She is a pioneer of Proactive Law and Contract Design, a lawyer on a mission: a practitioner by day and a researcher, author, and editor by night. Her research focuses on merging proactive legal thinking with design: helping people and businesses use contracts and law proactively to achieve better business and societal results, balance risk with reward, and prevent unnecessary problems. Bruce McLennan is an award winning commercial strategist and contract architect. He spent his informative years in the Royal New Zealand Navy specialising as a Principal Warfare Officer (Underwater) and having command of HMNZS TAUPO (a fisheries resource Patrol Craft) and HMNZS WELLINGTON (a gun Leander Class frigate) deploying throughout East Asia, South East Asia and the Pacific. In 2005, Bruce elected to settle in Australia. He joined the Australian Public Service within the Australian Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO), to be eventually appointed as the Program Director for DMO’s Ship Repair and Maintenance Reform program; a major transformation initiative to provide both Industry and Navy with greater predictability, certainty and stability in the repair and maintenance of the Navy’s major fleet units. In this role he won many Project Management awards, including the being a finalist in IACCM Awards for Innovation in 2013, and won the Operational Improvement Award in 2014. He is a Certified Practising Project Director (AIPM), a Certified Associate in Asset Management (CAAM), a certified Expert in the Commercial Officer’s Group (CPM-E), a former Expert in Supplier Relationship Management (ESRM) and a Fellow in the World Commercial & Contracting (WorldCC) organisation.

Dominic is currently the Head of the Group IT Management Office at AIA which includes responsibility for Vendor Performance and Contract Management. He has over 25 years of experience from various Sourcing, Contract Management and Supplier Management roles mainly within the Financial Services sector.

Kingsley has been at the forefront of technology innovation in the legal practice. He has 30 years of experience in the practice of law, software design and development, strategy and management. In 2012, Kingsley was recognized by the ABA as a Legal Rebel. In 2013, he was honored as one of the Fastcase 50; an Innovator by Law Technology News; and a national Law Journal Trailblazer and Pioneer.

Kingsley developed some of the first document assembly systems. He taught himself the C computer language and automated his tax practice. Later, Kingsley was one of the leading innovators in developing the theory and practice of knowledge management. He wrote the Knowledge Management Workbook.

Next, Kingsley pioneered the new discipline called contract analysis. Jennie made New Zealand her home over 25 years ago having forged a successful career in the UK as a commercial/business/IT lawyer with organisations like Slaughter & May, EMI Music, Pace Microtechnology, Comshare and Synthomer. In New Zealand, a long spell in the utility sector covering electricity, gas and telecommunications, gave Jennie a deep understanding of OT and IT enterprise risk management and related Board responsibilities. The last 8 years saw Jennie in the Association space, as a CEO and an ANZ Business Development Director for WorldCC. The common thread was thought leadership and connecting people in the Defence, Security and Infrastructure Sectors in both New Zealand and Australia and further afield. Victoria has over 20 years’ experience in the Defence & Security sector, leading corporate procurement, commercial and finance functions within FTSE100/250 organisations including BAE Systems, QinetiQ, Airbus, Unilever and the UK Health Security Agency.

Victoria’s achievements were recognised by World Commerce and Contracting in the Inspiring Women list 2023. The Times & Sunday Times in 2019 as the winner of We Are the City Top 100 Women 2019 – Defence. Victoria was also awarded the Marshall of Cambridge Medal by the Duke of Edinburgh for her contribution to the industry.

With over 20 years’ experience, Scott specialises as a legal advisor on significant projects and procurements for primarily government, but also private sector, clients. Scott’s role of lead legal advisor to significant projects often incorporates legal and procurement expertise on the same transaction, as well as strategic probity advice. In recognition of his position as a leading government lawyer, Scott was one of the first NSW Law Society Accredited Specialists in Government and Administrative Law (with a focus on government commercial and procurement transactions), and has been appointed by the Law Society of NSW as the Head Assessor for that Specialist Accreditation this year. Barry joined the Civil Service in November 2015, having held a number of senior posts in the financial services, telecoms and automotive sectors spanning 30 years. Now Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Profession for the Ministry of Justice, Barry is the principle commercial advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister/Lord Chancellor/Secretary of State, and Permanent Secretary. As a member of the Government Commercial Function’s leadership team, Barry is integral to the development of the public sector’s far-reaching procurement profession. Bernadette Bulacan is a frequent speaker regarding the digital transformation of global enterprises. As Vice President and Lead Global Evangelist for Icertis, the recognized leader in enterprise contract lifecycle management, she is charged with sharing contract management best practices with legal and contracting teams and evangelizing the use of innovative technologies like AI/ML and blockchain. Austin Phillips is a Specialized COE for Strategic Sourcing within Workday’s Healthcare organization. In this role, he works cross functionally to provide leadership, support, and guidance to help drive an accelerated time to value on Strategic Sourcing initiatives. Prior to his current role, Austin supported Workday’s Healthcare team identifying organizations looking to transition their legacy on-premise back-office environment to an integrated cloud based solution.

Chase D’Agostino is a contract solutions expert with over 15 years of experience serving global corporations and financial institutions. Examples of the use cases he supports include reviewing and updating contracts in the face of a change in regulation, a market destabilizing event or a corporate transaction such as pre-transaction contract due diligence for M&A, post-transaction integrations and internal reorganizations. Verity found her love for the law and contracts later in life as a mature age legal student. After completing an internship with a mid-sized telco company, she was invited to stay on as a paralegal - yes to finally getting paid to do legal work! She enjoyed the fast pace of work and practical experience of in house life. As a junior lawyer, Verity was eager to help with more substantial contracts but found her time eaten away with contract admin. Printing and binding contracts, tabbing up documents for signatures, chasing down executives to sign documents, scanning in contracts… She felt stuck in admin and frustrated. So she decided to encourage the small legal team to adopt electronic signatures and from there her love affair with contracts really took off.
