We are pleased to invite applications for the position of Senior Contract Manager - Brisbane to join our UH-60M Black Hawk team.

About the role:
Our Commercial team is diverse and dynamic – we invest in the development of our team and offer exciting career pathways. This role is an ideal blend of commercial leadership and management in support of the delivery of robust contractual outcomes for the Lockheed Martin Australia RMS business.

Your responsibilities will include:

Provide overarching Contracts Management / SME support to the UH- 60M Sustainment Program (the ‘Program’); commercially lead external customer and internal Contracts functional relationships with the aim of achieving business objectives; deliver pragmatic and sound commercial leadership and advice to the Program; provide expert commercial oversight, management and governance to the Program (within assigned responsibility); lead customer / contract shaping activities; foster customer engagement / relationship management; develop commercial strategies and plans; support Program / LMA business delivery objectives; and deliver internal / external customer satisfaction.

  • Drive contractual performance through negotiation, strategy development, improvement initiatives and provision of expert commercial advice.
  • Identify innovative commercial solutions to improve delivery performance, reduce costs, address performance issues and increase business revenues.
  • In support of Contract performance and via business cases, negotiations and contract change proposals, implement:
    • LMA business and customer initiatives / efficiencies; and
    • Contractual strategies to reduce business risk and increase revenue.
  • Commercial Stability and Capture. Working with the Deputy Program Manager to mobilise and stabilise Program contract performance.
  • Generate new business by working directly with the Deputy Program Manager, Program Services Manager and the customer to identify / capture opportunities to provide additional services and shape future customer direction:
    • Working with the Deputy Program Manager and Program Services Manager, generate internal and external business cases in support of capturing opportunities; and
    • Increase business revenues through commercial efficiencies and new business opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with Sourcing staff to ensure Subcontractor performance and Program commercial arrangements are back to back, consistent and effective.
  • Work with Export/Import (EXIM) to ensure Program export / import requirements are met.

About you:

As a Senior Contract Manager within our Commercial functional team, and an important contributor to developing others, it will be important that you value and have the ability to coach, mentor and provide technical commercial counsel and support to team members at all levels within their careers.

To be successful in this role you will also have:

  • Significant Commercial leadership skills and specialised understanding of commercial approaches in a multi domain environment. 
  • Extensive experience in negotiation and resolution of complex issues to achieve a positive, commercially focused outcomes.
  • Excellent customer and senior stakeholder engagement and management and the ability to shape optimal commercial outcomes for the business.
  • Expert interpersonal skills / written communication including the ability to prepare and present concise business cases, briefings and other documentation to internal / external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience working within an engineering or project environment (preferably within the defence industry). 
  • Significant ASDEFCON background / experience. 
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory standards, business management policies and procedures.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline (Contract Management, Commerce, Law, etc.), or equivalent experience / combined education.

Special Requirements:

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current NV1 Defence Security Clearance, or be eligible to hold a NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
 
The location of the role will be in Brisbane, QLD.
