Our team is seeking a Global Contract Manager located in the European time zone who will join the Global Contracting team to contribute to the successful implementation of the DNV BA Energy Systems Contracting function.
The Global Contract Manager (CM) is part of a Global Contracting team and reports to one of four Team Leaders. The contract management function is a centrally organized risk management function and provides specialized legal advice on contracts related to the delivery of our projects/ services. In this role you will provide the formal legal review and risk analysis of customer contracts and provide advice to the bid manager and key account manager, as well as other levels of the Energy Systems management team during the decision-making process. You will ensure that contracts are aligned with the strategic earning ambitions for each customer / segment as well as the overall strategy expectations for Energy Systems with regards to growth, earnings and cash flow. You serve as point of contact for legal/contracts counterparts in customer organisations, ensure efficient internal collaboration and interface management.Primary tasks of this role:
- Provides advice for key-stakeholders at all levels of Energy Systems to ensure that contracts reflect an appropriate balance between risk and reward, act as business partner
- Assesses project risks, actively engages in the risk review process for projects, and collaborate with the business on strategies to mitigate risk
- Represents Energy Systems in reviewing, amending and negotiating a variety of contracts, forms or agreements with (key) customers
- Delivers a competent and high-quality product, that demonstrates a customer centric approach (both towards internal and external customers), and that provides commercially focused advice and solutions
- Provides advice on legal and commercial contract-related matters as well as on matters pertaining to other functional responsibilities of the Global Contracting team
- Fosters collaboration between DNV Group Legal and DNV Energy Systems on contract interpretation and negotiation, contract process, and interactions with DNV Energy Systems customers
- Advocates and ensures compliance with DNV processes, policies, guidelines and values
- Collaborates with senior management, other support functions and key stakeholders in the organization
- Provides training on legal/ contract management issues and risks within the functional scope of the Global Contracting team
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in law or equivalent
- More than 5 years of relevant work experience as a legal professional or contract manager
- Experience interacting with international stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrates solid legal skills in commercial/transactional context, including reviewing and drafting contracts and negotiating directly with external parties
- Experience reviewing and negotiating Energy/O&G/IT/Software/SaaS contracts is preferable
- Comfortable working as part of a global and multi-cultural team
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex projects
Possesses superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines - Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office
- Capable of professionally managing confidential information
